LLANELLI based Advanced Electronic Systems who were established in 2004 by Chris Carter are proving to be one of the towns biggest exporters.
Specialising in Electronic Automation and Industrial Control systems the company has recently completed contracts for industry in Poland, Brazil, Mexico and China.
Having worked within the industry for sometime prior to setting up on his own Chris knew the export market fairly well and found an ideal location to establish his business in Llanelli.
He became a member of Carmarthenshire Chamber in 2005 with a view to expanding his contact base.
Advanced Electronic Systems are the only company in the country producing systems like these, the automated systems are for use in any industry with an ability to control any type of machinery from Steel mills to applying stand alone units... even residential heating systems could be controlled!
Chris explains “ The benefits of the system in manufacturing is that the whole service be-comes more efficient, diagnostics and maintenance can be carried out over the internet or telephone, this immediately cuts costs for clients as well as enabling me to maximise management of my own time.”
Control system design is also carried out by Chris with the latest system being the Chameleon PLC which allows the user to control pieces of industrial equipment. Nothing new in that - except that this is the only piece of equipment that has an HMi (Human to machine interface) combined with analogue and digital inputs and outputs “We have developed this equipment to carry out the role where two pieces of equipment would normally be used at roughly half the price” added Chris.
Another arm of the business is the mechanical side where Advanced Electronic Systems design specialist mechanical machinery bespoke to client’s requirements including both pneumatics and hydraulics.
With contracts around the globe including with global market leaders Advanced Electronic Systems are expecting to break its turnover forecasts in only the second year of trading.
